Banking Career Scholarship
University of Tennessee at Martin
First Farmers is proud to partner with the University of Tennessee at Martin to offer the Banking Career Scholarship through the First Farmers Workplace Mentor Program. This exclusive opportunity is available to students beginning their sophomore year who are passionate about pursuing a career in banking. Scholarship recipients will receive $2,000 during their sophomore year, $3,000 as juniors, and $4,000 in their senior year, along with two summer internships at First Farmers—providing both financial support and invaluable real-world experience.
Eligibility for the First Farmers Workplace Mentor Scholarship includes:
- Currently enrolled at UTM with a major in the College of Business and Global Affairs.
- Student to apply before the sophomore year.
- Demonstrate academic performance with a 2.5 GPA or higher.
- Attend 1 financial services seminar per semester.
- Job shadow 2 different financial services professionals within each year.
- Participate in 2 summer internships before graduation with First Farmers and have satisfactory work performance.
- Complete the course Commercial Banking 351, or a comparable upper-division finance course.

In December 2022, Cheyenne Stewart, a sophomore from Centerville, became the first recipient of the Workplace Mentor Program Scholarship at UT Martin. This scholarship supports students pursuing a career in banking, awarding $2,000 during the sophomore year, $3,000 in the junior year, and $4,000 in the senior year.
