
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 28, 2019)––First Farmers & Merchants Bank took a big step forward on Jan. 23 with the opening of its second Davidson County location.
The new Hillsboro Village office is located at 2306 21st Avenue South in Nashville. First Farmers first entered Davidson County in 2014 with the opening of its Green Hills office. First Farmers has 22 locations in seven Middle Tennessee counties.
“The addition of the 21st Avenue location is an important development in the execution of First Farmers’ branching strategy,” said T. Randy Stevens, First Farmers’ Chairman and CEO. “We are proud to have an accomplished team of veteran bankers in the Hillsboro Village area ready to serve clients.”
The 3,743 square-foot building was purchased in September 2018 by First Farmers. The office provides consumer banking, private banking, mortgage lending, business banking and commercial banking services.
The 21st Avenue office currently houses six team members and will be managed by Darryl Clark, who was previously branch manager for First Farmers’ Franklin office. Clark is a graduate of Murray State University and brings over 26 years of banking experience. He previously served as Branch Manager and Vice President for The Bank of Nashville (now Synovus Bank) and Regions Bank. Clark is a member of both the Williamson County Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Nashville Chamber of Commerce. He volunteers as event coordinator for the Williamson County chapter of BNI and on the allocations committee for the United Way of Williamson County.
Douglas Jahner will serve as business banker at the new location. A graduate of University of Detroit Mercy, Jahner brings over 20 years of experience and expertise in banking. Jahner was most recently a business banking officer for Republic Bank. Jahner’s experience also includes serving as Assistant Vice President of business banking at Charter One Bank-RBS/Citizen’s Financial Group and Chase Bank. He currently serves as events director for the Bellevue-Harpeth Chamber of Commerce.
Ed Theis has joined the office as commercial relationship manager. Theis brings over 26 years of financial experience in private and business banking with a specific concentration in the music, sports and entertainment industries. He most recently worked for Heritage Bank as a commercial lender. He is a graduate of Rock Island’s Augustana College and currently volunteers as a Nashville Sports Council member at community-based nonprofit organization My Friend’s House / Family & Children’s Services.
